Super Bowl 2024 Halftime Show: A Star-Studded Event with Usher

During the Super Bowl halftime performance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Usher appeared on a throne, accompanied by a marching band and a plethora of Vegas entertainers, yet he remained at the center.

<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-398382″ src=”” alt=” super bowl 2024 halftime show a star studded event with usher usher ap 1 2024 02 6″ width=”1008″ height=”672″ title=”Super Bowl 2024 Halftime Show: A Star-Studded Event with Usher 9″ srcset=” 510w,×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1008px) 100vw, 1008px” />

His status as the perfect halftime performer—one with classic classics that never go out of style, expert choreography, and a loyal fan base—was instantly confirmed.

He began with “Caught Up” and went on to “Superstar,” “U Don’t Have to Call,” and “Love in the Club.”

Next, Alicia Keys appeared in front of a vivid red piano to play her song “If I Ain’t Got You,” which later turned into “My Boo.” Notably, Usher performed this song during Black History Month, seeming to pay homage to Michael Jackson by taking off his glove.

He informed the audience, “They said I wouldn’t make it,” and he dedicated his performance to his “mama.”

During the thirteen-minute Apple Music-sponsored halftime performance, Ludacris made a cameo with H.E.R., Jermaine Dupri, and Lil Jon (for the song “Turn Down for What,” which turned into “Yeah!”).

The R&B icon had an unending supply of songs to choose from over the course of three decades, and she did so with many costume changes and a rolling rendition of “OMG” while skating on roller skates, at one point even slicing across’s legs.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of his album “Confessions,” which is among the best-selling music projects ever; “Burn” quickly rose to the top of the performance.

Usher, 45, has established Vegas as a home for his distinctive abilities over the last two years. He is an ideal choice for Sunday’s game because of his sold-out residency, “Usher: My Way,” at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

The eight-time Grammy winner has previously performed on the Super Bowl stage before; in 2011, he made a cameo with of the Black Eyed Peas.

In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Usher said, “I got a chance to see a bit of what it felt like.” He performed “OMG” from the stadium sky for his first Super Bowl appearance in Arlington, Texas.

Before his 2024 performance, he said, “Don’t take the moments for granted because you only get 13 of them,” a reference to the typical 13-minute marathon time. “Trying to fit everything in when you actually have a large catalog, or a lot of records people celebrate and love, is the hardest part.”

Without a doubt, he discovered precisely how to do it.
